Quantum simulation has been one of the main topics of research in the realm of quantum technologies for years. In this talk, we will use it for modelling the hyperpolarization process on a nanodiamond, which can improve medical imaging. We will introduce the basics of hyperpolarization and the quantum simulation algorithm for a system composed by NV centers and 13C nuclei in a nanodiamond. The limited available resources on current quantum computers motivates the use of a Co-Design approach in which the algorithm and the hardware are designed together to optimize the simulation. With that objective in mind, a specific SWAP pattern is proposed and a superconducting chip with non-standard elements was designed for making the most of our algorithm.
